Natural Helper Program
A Home-Based Family Support &
Parenting Skills Building Opportunity
Youth Haven’s Natural Helper program is a family strengthening and education program designed to assist expectant parents and families with young children in developing and maximizing their potential to meet the challenges of positive parenting. A variety of individualized services are offered in each family’s home to assist in easing the transition into parenthood and make parenting less stressful and more enjoyable. Working in partnership with Youth Haven’s team of professional family support specialists, families engage in creating effective strategies in which to alleviate stress, overcome obstacles and create healthy parent and child bonds.
Services provided include:
• Parenting education & support
• Money management
• Affordable housing information
• Child day care & school information
• Home safety & child proofing
• Crisis intervention
• Connections to community-based resources & other supportive services
• Access to proper prenatal and pediatric care
• Health, wellness & nutrition guidance
• Limit setting & effective discipline techniques
• Social support, mentoring & role modeling
• Constructive play ideas & recreation activities
• Child development education & developmental screening
• Psychological counseling & behavioral therapy referrals
