First Annual Charity Chuckle Event Raises
$24,000 for Abused Children

More than 175 people attended Youth Haven’s first annual Charity Chuckle event, held May 5th, 2006 at the Naples Hilton, raising more than $24,000 for abused children and at-risk families. Local musical comedy entertainer Jimmy Keys headlined the event. Robert W. Baird was the evening’s presenting sponsor.

“On behalf of the Board of Trustees and more importantly the children & families of Youth Haven, I’d like to thank all of our supporters, and many new friends, who came out in support of our inaugural blockbuster comedy event,” said Janet Gable & Brad Marshall, members of Youth Haven’s Board of Trustees and co-chairs of the event. “While child abuse and neglect is far from a laughing matter, the evening provided us with a wonderful opportunity to bring friends together in a relaxed environment in which to shed light on the traumas facing innocent children in our community.”

Plans are already underway for the second annual event scheduled for May 4th, 2007.
