Youth Haven
Who We Are

Youth Haven was incorporated and its first Board of Directors formed in 1969. Youth Haven remains the only emergency shelter for children in Collier County. Since inception, we have provided a home for thousands of neglected and/or abused children in desperate need of protection – ages birth through eleven, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, without exception.

We rely heavily on the community to support our programs, as we receive no funding from Collier County. Seventy-eight percent of our income last fiscal year came directly from community donations. Only 22% of our support this past year came from State or Federal funding. Our land and building are fully owned. We have a beautiful, remote 25-acre campus with charming cottages, lush landscaping, volleyball and basketball courts, bicycle path, and age-appropriate playgrounds. Five acres are developed with room to expand to meet the changing needs of our community.

While our roots remain grounded in emergency shelter care, today, our campus flourishes not only with an on-site day care center for low-income working families, but also an array of pioneering child and substance abuse prevention initiatives to families at risk of abusing their children. All local, state, and Federal sources of funding are being investigated and, where possible, grant applications submitted. More than 1,800 children and family members were served in our programs this past fiscal year – the highest for a single year in Youth Haven history.
